Jigawa State Commissioner Arrested by Hisbah in Uncompleted Building with Married Woman
The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Commissioner for Special Duties in Jigawa State, after he was allegedly found in an uncompleted building with a married woman.
The arrest was confirmed by Dr. Abba Sufi, Director General of the Hisbah Board, who stated that Sankara was apprehended on Friday evening following reports of suspicious activities. The complaints were filed by the woman’s brother-in-law, who alleged that the commissioner had been involved in an illicit relationship with the married woman.
Dr. Sufi explained that Hisbah officials had been tracking Sankara for some time due to these complaints, which ultimately led to his capture. “Yes, it is true. We have arrested Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa Commissioner, with a married woman in an uncompleted building that belongs to him,” he confirmed.
The arrest has drawn public attention, particularly because Hisbah, as a Sharia-enforcing body in Kano State, plays a significant role in upholding Islamic moral standards.
