Seun Kuti, the 37 year old son of the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti has said that most artistes pursing their personal interests are only hiding under the guise of being inspired by his late father to smoke, take drugs and chase girls.
Seun, in a recent interview, stated that “I think a lot these persons grow up in Christian and Muslim homes but use Fela as an excuse to misbehave. They smoke, chase girls, are reckless and rude to elders.”
Seun also took a swipe at Burna Boy, who was recently reported to have said “I brought the Afrobeat genre to the mainstream, where it currently enjoys Western recognition.”
“I am the best in the country’s music industry since Fela.”
Seun was reported to have said “They say they do it alone, I just smile.”
I think this generation has abuse the beauty of art in music and the spirit it drives in them. All they do now is flaunt around with flashy cars and girls in the name of Living the life of a Legend like Fela Ransom Kuti. May God enters into the life of our artist to see reason in conducting a good behavior and channeling their music to play a positive impact in people’s life. We all enjoy the days of Baba Fela Ransom Kuti
It sad how some artists behave this day…. Many of them don’t use Fela names well.
