“I Converted from Christianity to Islam in Search of Truth” – Burna Boy
Grammy-winning Nigerian artist, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has opened up about his evolving spiritual journey, revealing that his quest for understanding led him to convert from Christianity to Islam — yet he still feels unfulfilled.
In a recent interview with streamer Playboymax, Burna Boy explained that his transition was driven by a deep desire to uncover life’s ultimate truths. However, he admitted that the more he studies religious texts, the more uncertain he becomes.
“Growing up, I was a Christian and then I converted to Islam. It’s like I’ve studied it all, but I’m still out here trying to find out what is really going on, you know? The more I research, the more confused I get,” he said.
The Afro-fusion star added that his search for spiritual clarity and personal truth continues, describing it as a never-ending journey.
Burna Boy’s remarks echo similar revelations by fellow Nigerian artist 9ice, who recently shared that he embraced the Ifa religion after experiencing a spiritual crisis that left him bedridden for six months.
