Sex Worker Arrested for Killing Barman Over N200 in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has detained a 32-year-old sex worker, Riyanatu Musa, for allegedly stabbing a barman, Yohanna Musa, to death during a quarrel over a N200 balance for liquor. The incident occurred in Mubi South Local Government Area.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation. She explained that she had purchased dry gin, locally known as “Big Ben,” and another item from the victim, promising to pay later. She claimed to have settled N1,500 of the cost, leaving a balance of N200.
The dispute began when the barman demanded the remaining money. The altercation escalated, leading to the suspect stabbing him in the chest with a knife, which proved fatal.
The suspect, a mother of two, expressed regret over her actions and denied drinking beer on the day of the incident, although she admitted to consuming alcohol.
SP Nguroje revealed that the Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, has directed a thorough investigation into the case. He also cautioned the public against resorting to violence or taking the law into their own hands.
