Sen Anyim Pius Anyim has Accepted to Join APC,” Says Ebonyi Chairman; Sets July 14 for Formal Defection

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that former Senate President and ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, will be joining the party. This announcement was made during a rally held in Ivo, Ebonyi State, where Anyim’s pictures were prominently displayed, symbolizing his acceptance into the APC.

Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, the APC Ebonyi Chairman, affirmed Anyim’s decision to join the party, describing him as a crucial stakeholder in the APC. Emegha disclosed that extensive efforts were made to persuade Anyim to make the move, citing his invaluable experience and influence in the South East region.

“I personally met with him in Abuja to discuss his membership, knowing that his involvement is pivotal for our negotiations in the South East,” Emegha stated during the rally. “Senator Anyim Pius Anyim is not just a member of APC; he is now a significant stakeholder, and his contributions will be felt across Ebonyi and the entire South East.”

Governor Francis Nwifuru, represented by his Deputy, Princess Patricia Obila, commended the turnout at the rally and urged continued support for the APC-led administration in the state. He also assured residents that ongoing issues, such as local government boundary disputes, would be addressed promptly.

Emmanuel Ajah, Chairman of the local government, pledged enhanced developmental initiatives if re-elected, emphasizing the party’s commitment to delivering more dividends of democracy.

The formal induction of Senator Anyim Pius Anyim into the APC is scheduled for July 14, marking a significant addition to the party’s ranks in Ebonyi State and the broader South East geopolitical zone.
