A joint security team has uncovered criminal hideouts in the Lilu, Mbosi, and Iseke communities of Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra State. The operation, conducted early Saturday, led to the recovery of three unexploded bombs and two abandoned vehicles.

Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, revealed in a statement that the operation was part of a coordinated effort by security agents acting on intelligence gathered over time. Along with the unexploded bombs, materials such as copper wires, fuel, and other dangerous explosives were also recovered.

“Following security intelligence, the Joint Security Forces conducted a planned and coordinated operation in Lilu, Mbosi, and Isseke, leading to the discovery of three unexploded improvised explosive devices, two abandoned vehicles, and several explosive materials,” Ikenga stated.

He also noted that the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has urged the operatives to maintain the momentum of the operation. He reassured law-abiding residents of the police and other security agencies’ dedication to keeping criminal elements at bay.

SP Ikenga further mentioned that the joint security team’s operations are still ongoing, with more updates to be shared as developments unfold.
