PDP Chairman in Akwa Ibom dies from Covid-19
The chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Akwa Ibom State Udo Ekpenyong has died from COVID 19 related complications.
He was elected as chairman of the state PDP in July 2020 after resigning as Commissiononer for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to contest for the position.
According to an official of the state government, Mr Ekpenyong died yesterday in Uyo from complications after testing positive for Covid-19.
He was known to be a strong ally of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
