Obaseki to Join PDP Today
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, will today join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), following his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) earlier in the week.
The party’s National Vice Chairman (South South), Emmanuel Ogidi, who confirmed this to newsmen in Benin city on Thursday also announced that the party’s gubernatorial primary scheduled to hold on Friday and Saturday has also been shifted to Tuesday next week.
Leaders and supporters of the party had on Thursday gathered at the party secretariat waiting Obaseki’s defection when they received news that the event has been shifted to today.
Obaseki, has in the last one week been meeting with PDP Governors and other Party leaders to negotiate his defection to the party after he was disqualified from contesting the APC primary election by the screening committee.
