NNPP Unveils New Logo, Slogan, Adopts Kwankwaso’s Red as Party Colour
The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) announced the launch of its new logo and slogan on Friday, attributing the change to confusion caused by the old logo, which contributed to the party’s loss in the 2023 general elections.
The NNPP has replaced its former logo, which featured a green background with blue accents and a basket of agricultural produce, with a new design featuring a red and white background, a book, and an academic wig. The party’s slogan has also been updated from “Peace, equity and progress” to “Education for all.”
At a news conference, Acting National Chairman Dr. Ajuji Ahmed revealed that the old logo would still be used in the upcoming September 21 governorship election in Edo State due to logistical constraints, but the new logo will debut in the Ondo governorship elections.
Dr. Ahmed highlighted that the new logo and slogan, approved at the party’s National Executive Committee meeting in April, have received the green light from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“History is being made here today, as a new dawn has arrived for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP). The Party is today presenting its new logo to Nigerian voters, which henceforth will adorn ballot papers in every election in Nigeria, following the approval of the logo by the only body charged with the responsibility of registering and monitoring the activities of political parties and managing elections in Nigeria, i.e., the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),” Dr. Ahmed stated.
He further explained, “The unveiling of the logo was done at the National Executive Committee meeting of the Party on Friday, April 5, 2024, and the National Convention of Saturday, April 6, 2024. What we are doing here is to present the logo to Nigerian voters everywhere as the logo they should look out for in ballot papers henceforth anywhere they want to cast their ballot for NNPP in any election held in Nigeria.”
Dr. Ahmed emphasized that with the approval of the new constitution containing the new logo, flag, and slogan, the NNPP has transitioned from being managed by a few transactional politicians to being a party truly given to the Nigerian people.
