“Tinubu Will Reshuffle His Cabinet In Few Weeks” – Daniel Bwala
President Bola Tinubu is set to unveil a new cabinet within a few weeks, according to Daniel Bwala, a lawyer and public affairs analyst. Bwala’s comments come in response to criticisms made by Senate Chief Whip Mohammed Ali Ndume regarding the administration’s handling of security challenges and other issues.
Ndume, in a recent BBC Hausa interview, highlighted the government’s failure to address security issues and the difficulty ministers face in meeting with President Tinubu. He stated, “The major problem with this government is that its doors are closed, to the extent that even some ministers cannot see the President.”
Further critiquing Tinubu’s administration, Ndume told journalists at the National Assembly that the President seemed out of touch with reality due to being influenced by undisclosed forces within Aso Rock.
Responding to these remarks, Bwala published an article titled “Ali Ndume, the rant of an expert in grandstanding,” where he challenged Ndume’s criticisms and questioned his achievements over his two-decade-long tenure. Bwala argued that Ndume has little to show for his time in office and accused him of benefiting from a system that promotes mediocrity.
Bwala defended President Tinubu, pointing out that the current administration is working to rectify the issues left by the previous government. He emphasized that Tinubu inherited many challenges from former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and is committed to economic and social reforms.
“Senator Ndume has thrown caution to the winds with his continuous attempt to mudslide, denigrate, asperse and besmirch the name of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Bwala wrote, asserting that Ndume fails to recognize the efforts being made to clean up past mismanagement.
Bwala disclosed that an assessment of current ministers has been completed and that President Tinubu will announce a new cabinet reshuffle soon. He highlighted Tinubu’s commitment to maintaining a dynamic cabinet, unlike the static administration observed under former President Buhari.
“Recently, the assessment of the current crop of Ministers was done. And in a couple of days or weeks from now, President Tinubu would unveil a new cabinet reshuffle,” Bwala stated, urging Ndume to await the upcoming changes before continuing his criticisms.
In a meeting with the Arewa Consultative Forum in May, President Tinubu reaffirmed his readiness to dismiss any cabinet member who does not meet the expectations of Nigerians, underscoring his dedication to effective governance.
