Lambeth Council confirmed his resignation via a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), announcing Fiona Connolly as the acting chief executive. “Bayo Dosunmu has stepped down as Chief Executive of Lambeth Council with effect from Monday 15 July, 2024,” the statement read. “Fiona Connolly is currently Acting Chief Executive and the Council will shortly begin the process to recruit a permanent Chief Executive.”

Dosunmu was appointed as the chief executive of Lambeth Council in April 2022, having previously served as the council’s deputy chief executive and strategic director for resident services.
