Nigerian Army Promotes 47 Brigadier Generals, 75 Colonels
The Nigerian Army Council has given its nod for the promotion of 47 Brigadier Generals to the esteemed rank of Major General. Simultaneously, 75 Colonels have been raised to the rank of Brigadier General, marking a commendable stride in recognizing and advancing military leadership.
Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, conveyed the list of distinguished officers elevated to Major General, which includes notable names such as Brig Gen WB Etuk, Commandant of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management, and Brig Gen JE Osifo, Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration.
Among the promoted Brigadier Generals are Brig Gen WM Dangana, serving as the Commander of Sector 3 in the Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, and Brig Gen TB Ugiagbe, Acting Chief of Military Intelligence. Other accomplished officers include Brig Gen ASM Wase, Brig Gen MA Abdullahi, Brig Gen BI Alaya, Brig Gen AO Oyelade, and Brig Gen OO Arogundade, among others.
Colonels who have ascended to the rank of Brigadier General include Col Nwakonobi, Chief of Staff at Headquarters 3 Brigade, Col MC Akin Ojo, Commander of 41 Engineer Brigade, Col BM Madaki, Deputy Director at Army Headquarters Operations Monitoring Team, Col MO Edide, Director at Staff Army War College Nigeria, Col KE Inyang, Commander of 76 ST Brigade, and Col OO Nafiu, Chief of Staff at the Office of the Chief of Army Staff.
Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly promoted senior officers and their families. He urged them to redouble their efforts, emphasizing the need to justify their elevation and the confidence entrusted in their capabilities.
