Natasha vs Akpabio: “My Wife Has Been Enduring Harassment from Senate President” – Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan Breaks Silence
High Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, husband of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has broken his silence on the allegations of sexual harassment leveled against Senate President Godswill Akpabio. In a statement issued from Warri, Delta State, Chief Uduaghan expressed his concerns over the ongoing dispute, emphasizing the need for the Senate and the relevant authorities to treat his wife with the respect and dignity she deserves.
Chief Uduaghan stated that he initially chose not to comment on the matter but felt compelled to speak due to the unnecessary distractions surrounding the allegations. He reaffirmed his wife’s integrity, describing her as a devoted and truthful person who has always stood firm in the face of adversity. He also highlighted her commitment to representing the people of Kogi Central with dedication and responsibility.
The traditional leader revealed that his wife had confided in him about her interactions with the Senate President, whom he had once considered a family friend. In response, he said he handled the matter with maturity and responsibility, meeting with Mr. Akpabio personally to address the issue. Chief Uduaghan said he urged the Senate President to show his wife the respect she deserved while also honoring their personal friendship. According to him, both parties initially agreed to resolve the issue amicably.
However, he noted that despite this understanding, his wife continued to express concerns about ongoing harassment. Reaffirming his unwavering support for her, Chief Uduaghan described his marriage as one built on love, compassion, and mutual respect. He declared that he would never compromise his wife’s dignity and emphasized that she remains the greatest joy of his life.
Chief Uduaghan concluded by calling on the Senate and its leadership to ensure that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan is treated with the fairness and respect she is due while the legal and investigative processes take their course.
