Mother, Two Daughters Crushed by Trailer in Ogbomoso
In a heartbreaking incident that has plunged Ogbomoso, Oyo State, into mourning, a middle-aged woman and her two daughters were crushed to death by a trailer late Wednesday night.
The tragedy occurred in the Apake area of the town as Kudirat, a local shopkeeper, and her daughters Mariam, 13, and Azeezat, 10, were returning home from their shop around 11 p.m. The family was traveling on a commercial motorcycle when they were struck by the trailer.
Eyewitnesses reported that while the motorcyclist miraculously escaped unhurt, the trailer driver fled the scene. Despite efforts by locals to apprehend him, he successfully made his escape.
A resident described the scene as “brutal,” noting the devastating impact on the victims. The bodies of Kudirat and her daughters have since been deposited in a morgue.
Attempts to reach the Oyo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Rosemary Alo, for comments were unsuccessful as of Friday.
