Military Launches Manhunt Against Terrorists in FCT Communities
Soldiers of the Military High Command have initiated aggressive operations against terrorists and kidnappers involved in abductions across various communities in the satellite areas of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
During the ongoing operations in identified hotspots, authorities report the successful apprehension of no fewer than 10 suspects, including one informant collaborating with violent extremists and two kidnappers. These individuals are now in custody for interrogation.
Fielding questions from journalists at Defence Headquarters, Abuja, Major-General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, assured residents not to panic. Buba emphasized the coordinated efforts of the military and other security agencies, particularly the police, in addressing the current security challenges in the nation’s capital.
Buba affirmed that the military’s operations extend beyond the FCT, reaching neighbouring states that share boundaries. He assured the public that the ongoing military efforts will significantly enhance the overall safety of the FCT.
