“Leave Israel Now,” China Urges Citizens
In response to escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, the Chinese embassy in Israel has advised its citizens to depart the country “as soon as possible.” The embassy’s statement, issued on Sunday, highlighted the severe and unpredictable security situation along the Israel-Lebanon border, where military conflicts have become increasingly frequent.
“The current situation is extremely tense,” the embassy noted, urging Chinese nationals to either return home or move to safer areas immediately.
This advisory comes amid a broader conflict, as Israel expands its military focus to include the Lebanese front. Both Israel and Hezbollah have threatened to escalate their cross-border attacks, despite international appeals for restraint.
Recent events include an Israeli air strike in southern Beirut that targeted the head of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force, resulting in significant casualties. This follows a series of bomb blasts in Lebanon attributed to Israeli actions, which left 39 dead and nearly 3,000 injured.
In a related move, China previously urged its citizens in Lebanon to evacuate after an Israeli strike killed a senior Palestinian militant.
