Lagos Billionaire-Kidnapping Ring: Police Identify Another Key Gang Member, Uncover Details of Last Operation

The Special Squad Unit of the Lagos State Police Command has identified another key member of the notorious billionaire-kidnapping gang involved in the violent confrontation at Ladipo Market last month. The suspect, known as Uzoamaka, has been recognized as the gang’s top marksman and sharpshooter.

The Lagos police investigation, led by CSP Kehinde Oni, has revealed that before the Ladipo Market incident, the gang kidnapped a wealthy female supermarket owner from Ago Okota, extorting a ransom of N68 million. CCTV footage from the supermarket implicated Uzoamaka, who was caught scouting the area before the abduction. According to police sources, Uzoamaka played a crucial role, ensuring the area was clear before the gang moved in.

Uzoamaka, known in criminal circles for his exceptional marksmanship and arms handling skills, is now linked to multiple kidnapping operations across Lagos. “He was one of the sharpest shooters in the criminal world,” said a police official. “His involvement in the Lagos kidnappings has only just come to light.”

During the Ladipo Market raid, Uzoamaka reportedly fired the first shot when a decoy car blocked the gang’s escape route. CSP Oni explained that the shot, which struck a car’s headrest but narrowly missed a police officer, was intended to intimidate and clear their path.

The investigation into the gang has uncovered a staggering 42 case files related to their operations, stored in various police stations across Lagos. “It was a shocking discovery,” remarked CSP Oni. “The volume of evidence highlights the extent of their criminal activities.”

As detectives continue to work on identifying all victims from the Ladipo raid, they face challenges, as families of the deceased have been hesitant to come forward. Despite these difficulties, the police are determined to expose the full extent of the gang’s operations and bring all involved to justice.
