Kogi Guber Poll: Brother of Former Kogi Governor, Wada Emerges as PDP Candidate
A brother of a former governor of Kogi state, Idris Wada, Engr. Musa Wada has emerged as the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after polling 748 votes to beat 10 other aspirants.
2388 delegates were accredited for the primary election that was held at the Confluence stadium in Lokoja which was disrupted in the early hours of Wednesday by gunmen who stormed the venue and started shooting from different directions.
The result as announced by the chairman of the electoral panel and the governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Fintiri are as follows; Abu Ibro 710 votes, Wada Idris 350 votes, Dino Melaye 70 votes, Aminu 55 votes, Victor Adoji 54 votes, Erico 42 votes, Atawodi 11 votes, Omobije 9 votes, Shuaibu 4 votes and Bayo Mike 2 votes.
A total of 247 votes were declared missing following the invasion of the venue. One delegate was reportedly killed by the gunmen.
