Kidnappers Demand N20 Million and Two Motorcycles for Abducted Councillorship Aspirant
In Kurmin-Kare, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, bandits have demanded a N20 million ransom and two motorcycles for the release of Japheth Zarma Yakubu, a councillorship aspirant. Yakubu was abducted last Thursday while visiting his farm.
A local community leader revealed that the abductors made contact with Yakubu’s family on Sunday, using his phone to issue their demands. According to the leader, a relative of the victim has been negotiating with the kidnappers.
Efforts to reach the Kaduna State Police Command for a statement were unsuccessful, as ASP Hassan Mansur was not available for comment.
