Kaduna Gov Now a Sycophant Over Tinubu’s N150bn — El-Rufai
Former Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has accused his successor, Senator Uba Sani, of sycophantic behavior due to financial support received from President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In a post on his verified Facebook page Tuesday morning, El-Rufai referenced a quote from the British TV series Sherlock Holmes before directing his remarks at Governor Sani. He was reacting to a recent television interview in which Sani praised the Tinubu government and dismissed any opposition coalition planning to challenge the administration in the 2027 general election.
El-Rufai alleged that Governor Sani’s stance was influenced by over N150 billion in federal reimbursements, interventions, and grants selectively allocated to Kaduna State by Tinubu’s government over the past 18 months. Writing under the hashtag #ConcernedKadunaCitizen, he stated, “Every day I see this governor embarrassingly and sycophantically rambling, I used to wonder why. However, confirming that Federal Government ‘reimbursements, interventions and grants’ in excess of N150bn have been given selectively to Kaduna by Tinubu in the last 18 months now explains everything.”
The former governor further noted that Sani was free to defend President Tinubu’s policies, particularly the conditional cash transfer program, but asserted that the people of Kaduna would ultimately judge his actions at the appropriate time.
