JUST IN: Tonto Dikeh Switches Allegiances, Joins APC
Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has made a significant political shift by leaving the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and aligning herself with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This development was officially disclosed through the APC’s official X account on Monday, catching many by surprise.
Notably, Tonto Dikeh had been the deputy governorship candidate for Rivers State on the ADC ticket during the 2023 general election. However, she has now shifted her allegiance to the ruling APC.
The actress’s introduction into the APC took place at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, where she was warmly received by the party’s National Women Leader, Dr. Mary Alile, and the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Duro Meseko.
The announcement, made through the APC’s official channels, read, “Tonto Dikeh, who previously held the position of the Rivers State 2023 deputy governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress, was formally unveiled at the Party’s Headquarters.” This political move marks a significant shift in Tonto Dikeh’s political journey, and it will be interesting to see how it unfolds in the coming months.
