JUST IN: Three PDP Senators Declare for APC After Meeting Tinubu Today
Three senators from Kebbi State elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have declared their intention to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) after meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House in Abuja today.
The senators—Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Yahaya Abubakar Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South)—met with the president alongside APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who led the delegation.
The meeting, which took place behind closed doors, was also attended by Kebbi State Governor Dr. Nasir Idris, Sokoto State Governor Ahmad Aliyu, and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu.
Their defection marks a significant realignment in Kebbi State politics and is expected to boost the APC’s influence both in the state and at the federal level. Political observers see the move as part of broader shifts within Nigeria’s political landscape as parties prepare for future elections and legislative battles.
