JUST IN: Police Nab Suspected Dealer of Vandalized Transformer Parts in Onitsha
In a major breakthrough against infrastructure vandalism, the Anambra State Police Command has arrested a suspected dealer of vandalized electrical equipment in Fegge, Onitsha.
The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Maduka, was apprehended on Friday, June 14, 2025, at about 4:15 PM by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Awkuzu, following credible intelligence.
During the arrest, police recovered multiple bags containing vandalized copper wires, high-tension cables, copper coils, and other transformer components.
Police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the arrest and disclosed that the suspect is currently assisting investigators, having confessed to supplying the stolen items to buyers in Ogun and Lagos States.
The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as new developments emerge.
