JUST IN: PDP NWC Suspends Wike’s Ally, Chief Dan Orbih
In a decisive move today, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Chief Dan Orbih, the National Vice Chairman (South South), from all party activities. This decision comes in light of alleged misconduct surrounding the upcoming Edo State Governorship election.
The NWC convened for its 588th meeting and unanimously condemned Chief Dan Orbih’s recent actions and statements regarding the party’s primary election process in Edo State. The committee deemed these actions incompatible with the party’s constitution and the responsibilities of his office.
To address these concerns, the NWC has established a six-member investigation committee led by Deputy National Chairman (South) Amb. Taofeek Arapaja. This committee is tasked with thoroughly investigating the matter as per the party’s constitutional guidelines.
Pending the outcome of the investigation, Chief Dan Orbih is barred from participating in any further NWC meetings, events, or programs. The NWC expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of the people of Edo State towards the PDP and its gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo.
The committee urged all party members in Edo State to maintain unity and focus on securing victory in the upcoming September 21, 2024 Governorship election.
