JUST IN: Israel Agrees to 4-Hour ‘Ceasefire’ in Gaza, Announced by White House

Israel has agreed to a daily four-hour pause in military operations in the northern Gaza Strip, marking a temporary respite in the intense conflict that has raged for the past month. This announcement comes from the White House National Security Council spokesperson, John Kirby.

The decision to implement these brief ceasefires follows the outbreak of a fierce armed conflict between the Israeli military and Hamas-led Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip, which commenced on October 7, 2023. The conflict escalated when Hamas militants launched a multi-pronged invasion into Southern Israel.

John Kirby stated, “We’ve been told by the Israelis that there will be no military operations in these areas throughout the pause, and that this process is starting today.”

It is worth noting that these temporary ceasefires are designed to provide relief for the beleaguered residents of the northern Gaza Strip who have endured the hardships of the ongoing conflict. The brief respites are expected to be announced three hours in advance, allowing the affected population to prepare.

The toll of this month-long conflict has been devastating, with reports indicating that at least 10,812 Palestinians have lost their lives in the Gaza Strip since the commencement of hostilities on October 7, 2023.

As the situation in the region remains fluid, the international community continues to closely monitor developments, hoping for a more enduring and comprehensive resolution to the conflict.
