JUST IN: IPOB/ESN Clash with Security Forces at Abia State School, Multiple Casualties Reported (Photos)
May 31, 2024 – Earlier today, at approximately 3:00 PM, members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), launched an attack on a military checkpoint at Federal Government College (FGC) in Ohafia Local Government Area, Abia State. The confrontation led to a fierce exchange of fire, resulting in several casualties among the attackers.
Nigerian Army and police forces successfully repelled the assault, killing multiple ESN operatives and arresting one suspect. A significant cache of weapons was also recovered from the scene. The situation is currently under control, with heightened security measures in place to prevent further incidents.
