JUST IN: Delta State Tribunal Dismisses Omo-Agege’s Election Petition Against Gov Oborevwori
The Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has emphatically dismissed the petition lodged by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate. The petition sought to challenge the legitimacy of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s victory in the March 18, 2023, gubernatorial election.
A three-member tribunal panel, presided over by Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu, handed down its judgment, unequivocally confirming Governor Oborevwori as the rightful winner of the election. The tribunal’s decision hinged on the fact that the petitioners were unable to substantiate their allegations of non-compliance with the Electoral Act and corrupt practices beyond a reasonable doubt.
This verdict comes as a resounding affirmation of the election’s integrity and Governor Oborevwori’s victory. The ruling underscores the tribunal’s commitment to upholding electoral standards and ensuring that the democratic process remains transparent and fair.
