JUST IN: Bobrisky Falls Ill While in Police Custody, Rushed to Hospital
Lagos – Controversial crossdresser Okuneye Idris, widely known as Bobrisky, has reportedly fallen ill while detained at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos.
After spending the night in a police cell, Bobrisky was transported to Falomo Police Hospital for urgent medical attention. According to sources, he was moved from the FCID to the hospital for treatment due to health concerns.
Witnesses indicated that Bobrisky complained of breast pain, prompting authorities to arrange for his transfer around 2:00 p.m. He was seen being transported in an ambulance, wearing a black gown and covering his face with a shawl.
Bobrisky’s detention follows his arrest on Monday night by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme border in Lagos. He was reportedly attempting to leave the country when he was intercepted.
As investigations continue into the circumstances of his arrest, it is likely that Bobrisky will remain in custody. The FCID is expected to seek a remand order to extend his detention.
A formal statement regarding Bobrisky’s situation from the FCID is anticipated later today. NIS spokesperson Kenneth Udo has confirmed the arrest, describing Bobrisky as “a person of interest” in their ongoing efforts to secure Nigeria’s borders.
