Husband Stabs Bishop to Death Over Suspicion of Affair with Estranged Wife in Osogbo
Dr. Sina Olaribigbe, the Presiding Bishop of Rapture Empowerment International, was tragically stabbed to death on Thursday in Osogbo, Osun State. The incident occurred in the BCGA area, behind the Olorunda Local Government Secretariat, after an altercation involving an estranged couple.
According to sources, the couple had been experiencing marital issues that led to their separation. Despite their strained relationship, Bishop Olaribigbe had been involved in mediating between them, working to restore peace. However, the situation took a deadly turn when the husband, acting on suspicion, confronted the bishop while he was at his wife’s residence.
It is reported that the husband arrived at the woman’s home to find Bishop Olaribigbe in a compromising position, allegedly on the wife’s bed. Enraged by the suspicion that the bishop had been involved with his wife, the husband launched a violent attack, stabbing the bishop multiple times. The attack resulted in the bishop’s death.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer for the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident, stating that the bishop had been known to assist the couple in resolving their disputes. She elaborated that the tragic event occurred when the estranged husband found the bishop at the wife’s home and acted on his suspicion, leading to the fatal stabbing.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
