Ihiala Killings: Governor Soludo Announces N10 Million Bounty for Burial Attack Perpetrators
Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has placed a N10 million bounty on each of the gunmen responsible for the deadly attack during a burial ceremony in Ihiala last Monday. The incident, which occurred in Ihiala Local Government Area, claimed the lives of seven people, including two security personnel.
Governor Soludo made this announcement during a condolence visit to the family of the late Bridget Akanma Onuchukwu in Umuike, Ubahuekwem Ihiala. Expressing deep sorrow over the tragedy, the Governor condemned the attack, which saw the assailants open fire on security operatives stationed near the Local Government Headquarters as they fled the scene.
He extended his condolences to the bereaved families and assured the community of the state government’s commitment to ensuring justice. “We will not rest until the perpetrators of this heinous crime are apprehended. All of them will pay for it,” he said.
Governor Soludo also called on the public for assistance, promising to reward anyone with information leading to the arrest of those responsible. He further disclosed that discussions on enhancing security in Ihiala were underway and that measures would soon be unveiled.
