How an 18-Year-Old College Student Faked His Own Kidnapping to Extort N50 Million from His Mother — Police Reveal
An 18-year-old student, Moses Amarks, has been caught staging his own kidnapping to demand a ransom of N50 million from his mother.
Moses, who studies at the College of Health in Kwamba, Suleja Local Government Area, Niger State, enlisted a friend to call his mother on July 31, falsely claiming he had been abducted and demanding the large ransom for his release.
Police from the Maje Division arrested 22-year-old Emmanuel Moses, reportedly the last person seen with Moses, as part of their investigation. However, on August 1, officers located Moses alive and unharmed at Zuba Motor Park in Abuja.
During questioning, Moses confessed that he had orchestrated the entire kidnapping with Emmanuel. They had also involved Moses’s brother, Jetro, who arranged a hideout for them in Karji Village, Sabon-Tasha.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
