Gombe Emirate in Mourning After Tragic Road Crash Claims Six Family Members

The Gombe Emirate has been left in mourning after a tragic motor accident claimed the lives of six family members of traditional title holder Maidalan Gombe, Alhaji Ahmad Abubakar, on Sunday. The accident occurred along the Azare-Gombe road.

The deceased were returning from Azare town in Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State when the accident happened near Misau LGA of Bauchi State.

Among the victims were Maidalan Gombe’s daughter, Zainab, and her son, Ahmad, as well as children of his brother Muhammad D.O., Ahmad Muhammad, and Na’ima Muhammad. Two other individuals also lost their lives in the crash.

The funeral prayer for the deceased took place yesterday at the Gombe Emir’s Palace, attended by the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, and thousands of sympathizers.

Governor Yahaya expressed his condolences, calling the loss devastating. His spokesman, Ismaila Uba Misilli, conveyed the governor’s heartfelt sympathy in a message: “Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt for the immense grief you and your loved ones are experiencing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this heartbreaking time.”

The remains of the deceased were laid to rest at the Gombe Central Cemetery along the Gombe-Bajoga road after a funeral prayer led by the Chief Imam of Gombe, Sheikh Muhammad Umar Pindiga.
