Full List of PDP Officials, Members Who Defected to APC in Lagos
Several prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State have formally announced their defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The announcement was made on Monday, marking a significant shift in the state’s political landscape.
The defectors include high-ranking party executives, former candidates, and key stakeholders. They cited the PDP’s prolonged leadership crisis and internal disunity as the main reasons for their decision to leave.
Leading the group was Hakeem Amode, the PDP Publicity Secretary in Lagos State, who voiced his frustration over what he described as the party’s increasing irrelevance and its failure to resolve persistent internal conflicts. He lamented that the PDP had strayed from its founding principles, becoming a party plagued by instability, factionalism, and a lack of political direction.
