FCT Polls: PDP Sets Chairmanship Forms at N8.5m, Councillorship at N1.5m
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has announced the cost of its nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of the upcoming local elections. Chairmanship aspirants are expected to pay N8.5 million, which includes administrative charges, while councillorship hopefuls will pay N1.5 million.
During the official launch of the form sales at the PDP secretariat in Abuja, the FCT Publicity Secretary of the party, Josephine C. Itoyah, stated that women aspirants will receive both chairmanship and councillorship forms free of charge. She also revealed that persons with disabilities will be granted discounted rates to encourage broader participation in the democratic process.
The event was attended by key party officials, including the FCT PDP Auditor, Joshua Yohana, and Secretary Rabo Lucky Iyah. Itoyah emphasized the PDP’s longstanding presence in Nigeria’s political landscape, noting that it remains the only party to have endured through 26 years of uninterrupted democratic governance.
