Explosion Heard in Central Iran Amid Tensions with Israel
An explosion was reported in the northwest region of Isfahan, a city in central Iran, according to local sources cited by the Iranian semi-official FARS News Agency early Friday morning. The cause of the explosion remains unknown at this time.
Flight tracking data from Flight Radar 24 showed several flights were rerouted to avoid Iranian airspace in the early hours of Friday morning. Videos circulating online, reportedly from Isfahan, showed Iranian air defenses active in the skies above the city.
FARS News Agency also reported that the explosion was heard in Qahjavarestan, an area located east of Isfahan and near Isfahan International Airport. This incident occurs amid heightened tensions between Iran and Israel, with Israel recently vowing retaliation.
