Enugu Tanker Accident: Man, 10 Family Members Among Victims Burnt Beyond Recognition
The tragic fuel tanker accident on the Ugwu Onyeama section of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway claimed the lives of 11 members of a single family. The incident, which occurred last Saturday that resulted in the deaths of over 20 people after a tanker lost control and collided with several vehicles, leading to a massive fire.
Among the victims was a man identified as Bro Jeremiah Nwaji from Ebonyi State. He was traveling with his family from Anambra State to attend his father’s burial when the accident occurred. A source revealed that Nwaji, who served as the President of the Altar Boys Association at SS John and Paul Iba Pope, Awada Obosi, was in the vehicle with his wife, six children, younger brother, maid, and apprentice.
The family was en route to their hometown for the burial, scheduled for January 31, when the tragic incident took their lives. The devastating accident has left the community in mourning, as friends and relatives struggle to come to terms with the loss.
