Enugu Fire Incident Will Not Affect Our Operations – EFCC
Nigeria’s anti graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC says the recent fire incident at its Enugu Zonal Command Office, will not affect its operations in the Zone
The Secretary of the Commission, George Ekpungu gave the assurance while briefing Journalists, in Enugu, South East Nigeria on the damage caused by the fire outbreak.
Ekpungu who was in Enugu State to inspect the extent of damage, explains that all sensitive documents of the Enugu Zonal Command were not touched by the fire, adding that the Commission has commenced investigations to determine the cause of the fire incident and the cost implication of the damage.
The EFCC Secretary commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State who was one of the early callers to commiserate with the Commission.
The inferno which started in the early hours of Friday, 5th of May 2023, completely razed one of the buildings within the Commission’s zonal Command premises, but no life was lost.
