In a significant breakthrough against online criminal activities, the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has successfully apprehended 17 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud. These arrests come as a result of a meticulously executed sting operation, carried out at various locations within Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The arrests followed a series of intelligence reports that had linked the suspects to a wide range of cybercrimes. The EFCC, at the forefront of combating financial and digital fraud, confirmed the successful operation through an official statement posted on its Twitter page.
During the operation, law enforcement agents managed to seize crucial evidence from the suspects, further underscoring the depth of their alleged involvement. Among the confiscated items were mobile phones, a television set, a distinctive red Toyota Camry LE car, a black Honda car, and two luxurious Lexus cars.
