Edo Poll: Obaseki Trounces Kabaka, Edo APC Chairman in their Polling Units
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Edo state, Governor Godwin Obaseki defeated the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Col. David Imuse in his own polling unit.
According to an official result released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for Esan West Ward 9, Unit 3 polling unit, PDP candidate scored 126 votes while the candidate of the APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, scored 93 votes.
Also Obaseki trounced a chieftain of the APC, Mr. Tony Edun popularly known as Kabaka in his Idia Primary School polling unit, Ugieghudu, in Uhunmwonde local government Area of the state with 149 votes to APC’s 26 votes.
Edun was released on Friday by the Police after he signed an undertaking to conduct himself properly following a petition by the PDP that he was planning violence ahead of the polls.
