Edo Guber Poll: PDP Mocks Okpebholo’s Inability to Articulate Manifesto

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a swipe at the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate for the upcoming Edo State Governorship Election, Senator Monday Okpebholo, accusing them of failing to present a coherent and actionable manifesto.

As the September 21 election date approaches, the PDP claims that their candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, is actively engaging with the people of Edo State, focusing on issues and presenting a development-oriented agenda.

In a statement released yesterday, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, expressed disappointment in Okpebholo’s campaign. He stated, “The PDP mocks the disorganized APC and its candidate, Monday Okpebholo, for their inability to present any meaningful campaign manifesto or ideas that could benefit the people of Edo State. This failure has left him disconnected from the electorate.”

Ologunagba contrasted this with Dr. Ighodalo’s approach, highlighting the PDP candidate’s “detailed people-based and development-oriented manifesto” that he claims reflects the aspirations of Edo State’s citizens. He criticized Okpebholo for lacking a clear understanding of governance and being unable to connect with the people.

Further, Ologunagba noted that Okpebholo has avoided media and town hall engagements, which he suggests is due to a lack of capacity and ideas. He also pointed out Okpebholo’s quiet presence in the Senate, alleging that the senator has failed to attract significant development projects to Edo State.

The statement concluded by asserting that the APC’s campaign in Edo State is faltering, unable to generate interest among voters, and that the party has resorted to negative tactics out of frustration.
