Edo Governor’s Close Associate Caught on Camera Spraying Naira on Strippers Arrested by EFCC
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Kelly Okungbowa, a close associate of Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, over alleged abuse of the Nigerian currency.
Okungbowa, popularly known as Ebo Stone, was apprehended on Monday, March 17, 2025, by operatives of the EFCC’s Benin Zonal Directorate after a video surfaced online showing him spraying freshly minted naira notes on two strippers at a private party.
In the viral clip, Okungbowa is seen throwing bundles of cash into the air as two scantily dressed women dance around him and rub the money on their bodies. The incident reportedly took place at a bar on March 9, 2025.
Okungbowa previously served as the Chairman of the Edo State Asset Recovery Committee and Coordinator of the Public Safety Response Team (PSRT). Following the emergence of the video, the Edo State Government suspended him from his PSRT role.
According to the EFCC, Okungbowa will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations. The commission reiterated its commitment to enforcing laws against naira abuse, which include spraying, mutilating, or mishandling the national currency.
