Dickson Emerges PDP Senatorial Candidate For Bayelsa West Bye-Election
Immediate past Governor of Bayelsa state, Seriake Dickson has emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the Bayelsa West Senatorial District bye election.
Dickson became the validly nominated candidate of the PDP in the election that held on Saturday after polling 334 votes from the 338 votes cast.
Members of the PDP from Sagbama and Ekeremor abstained from the election as a mark of honour for the former Governor. Dickson speaking shortly after he was declared winner by the Returning Officer, Nicholas Obhiseh, thanked members of the party for finding him worthy to fly the party’s flag in the upcoming Senatorial bye election.
The seat became vacant after the former occupant, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo was elected deputy Governor of the state.
