“Davido Has Made Me Love Pidgin English” – King Charles III
British monarch King Charles III has revealed that Nigerian music star Davido inspired his appreciation for Pidgin English. The King made the comment during the premiere episode of Apple Music’s new show, *The King’s Music Room*, which aired on Monday.
Speaking about his diverse musical preferences, King Charles highlighted Davido’s hit song *Kante* featuring Fave as one of his favourites. He went on to express his enthusiasm for Nigerian culture, saying he hopes to speak Pidgin English the next time he visits Nigeria.
“Davido has made me love Pidgin language. I would like to speak it the next time I visit Nigeria. Thanks to Afrobeats, it’s becoming more popular around the world,” he said during the show.
Davido acknowledged the royal praise by reposting the video clip on his Instagram story, giving a shout-out to the royal family.
