Afrobeats star Davido has responded to his loss at the 68th Grammy Awards with a brief message shared on social media.
The singer posted photos from the ceremony in Los Angeles alongside his wife and captioned the images: “Oluwa Dey my side,” followed by prayer and music emojis.
Davido was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category for “With You” featuring Omah Lay. The award went to South African artist Tyla for her song “Push 2 Start.”
Other nominees in the category included Burna Boy (“Love”), Ayra Starr and Wizkid (“Gimme Dat”), and Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin (“Hope & Love”).
The ceremony was held on Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Tyla’s win marks her second Grammy, following her 2024 award for “Water.”
Fans have since shared messages of support for Davido online, praising his nomination and presence at the event.
