Brave Rape Survivor Defends Herself by Severing 75-Year-Old Man’s Private Parts in Adamawa State

In a harrowing incident that unfolded on October 18, 2023, in Mukuvinyi village, located in the Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, a 25-year-old woman fought off a potential rapist, a 75-year-old man named Daniel Jaja, by taking matters into her own hands—literally. Armed with a razor blade, the survivor successfully defended herself by severing Jaja’s private parts after he had reportedly overpowered her and was about to commit the heinous act.

The Adamawa State Police Department swiftly responded to the incident, leading to the apprehension of the alleged rapist, Daniel Jaja. According to a statement released by SP Suleiman Nguroje, the spokesperson for the police in the state, “Adamawa State Police Command on 30/10/2023 apprehended a 75-year-old man for attempting to rape a 25-year-old who visited him in Mukuvinyi Village, Hong Local Government Area.”

The statement continues, “The suspect, one Daniel Jaja, 75 years old, on 18/10/2023 in Mukuvinyi village, Hong Local Government Area, was said to have invited his victim to his house and suddenly advanced forcefully to have unlawful carnal knowledge of her, but she resisted. Investigation, so far, reveals that the victim, while trying to prevent the act, used a razor blade and cut the erect penis from penetrating her, leaving him with a serious injury now on admission in the hospital receiving treatment.”

The Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, expressed strong disapproval of the incident and has directed the officer in charge of the Family Support Unit of the command to take over the investigation, ensuring diligent prosecution.

Babatola further called upon members of the public, particularly those in villages, to provide timely information to the police, especially regarding criminally minded individuals who engage in gender-based crimes. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of self-defense and the need for communities to unite against such crimes.
