Bayelsa Guber: Former Deputy Governor Dumps PDP
A former deputy governor of Bayelsa state, Peremobowei Ebebi has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of November 16 gubernatorial election in the state.
Ebebi, who also served as a two-term speaker of the state Assembly in a letter dated October 11,2019 and addressed to his Ward 3 of Ekeremor local government chairman said lack of internal democracy within the party was the reason for leaving the party.
“I write in respect of the above matter and formally use this medium to inform you of the decision to withdraw my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“I have come to this hard decision after experiencing an enduring and excruciating period of a largely fraudulent internal democracy in the state chapter of the PDP, disregard and disrespect for due process as entrenched in the PDP constitution and electoral guidelines; high-handedness and desperation of the party’s leadership” the letter read.
Ebebi served as the Director-General of the Timi Alaibe Campaign Organisation.
