Bandits Kill Deputy VC of Usmanu Dan Fodiyo University on Kaduna Trip
Bandits have claimed the life of Prof. Yusuf Saidu, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research, Innovation, and Development at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
Prof. Saidu was fatally attacked while traveling from Sokoto to Kaduna, according to a statement released by the university on Monday. The institution mourned his untimely death, emphasizing his contributions to academia and describing him as a man of integrity and dedication.
“This is a painful loss to all members of the University community and the Academia at large,” the statement read.
The incident underscores the pervasive threat of banditry in Sokoto and neighboring states, where such attacks have become distressingly frequent. The university community and Nigerians at large are left mourning the loss of an esteemed educator and researcher.
Authorities are yet to provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the attack.
