Atiku, Obi, El-Rufai Have Shown Grave Incompetence, Failed to Manage Their Affairs – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized former presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, accusing them of incompetence and failing to manage their own affairs. According to the APC, these figures have shown a lack of capability in managing their personal and political matters.

In a statement issued by APC spokesman Felix Morka, the party asserted that Nigerians should not be distracted by what it described as the desperate actions of politicians seeking to remain relevant ahead of the 2027 elections. Morka specifically challenged Atiku’s comments regarding judicial involvement in Nigeria’s electoral process, calling it ironic given his history as one of the country’s most prominent electoral litigators.

Morka stated, “It is a thing of irony that Atiku, who is Nigeria’s most prolific electoral litigator, would make such a ludicrous claim that judicial involvement in electoral matters is a threat to democracy.” He added that Atiku’s criticism of the courts and the electoral process was hollow, given his long-standing use of the judiciary to advance his political interests. He urged Atiku to step back and allow the democratic process to unfold without interference.

The APC further emphasized that Nigeria’s democracy is stronger than Atiku’s personal ambitions and that the country deserves better than “petty politicking and alarmist rhetoric from an elder statesman.” Morka also noted that Atiku, with his experience, should focus on rebuilding his party and providing constructive solutions to Nigeria’s challenges.

The APC dismissed suggestions from Atiku, Obi, and El-Rufai, as well as other opposition figures, that the ruling party might be involved in undermining opposition parties. Morka described these claims as a “pitiful” attempt to cover up the opposition leaders’ failure to manage their own affairs. He pointed out that these politicians, unable to govern their own parties, were touting their capacity to govern Nigeria.

In conclusion, the APC urged Nigerians to ignore what it referred to as the “false alarm and hollow allegations” of desperate politicians seeking to boost their political relevance in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.
