APC Stakeholders Reject ‘False Narratives,’ Affirm Egoigwe’s Candidacy

The membership status and political ambition of Hon. Nnamdi Egoigwe have been reaffirmed within the All Progressives Congress (APC), as party stakeholders in Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency push back against what they describe as false claims circulating in the political space.

Party sources confirm that Egoigwe is a registered and active member of APC in Ward 15, Onitsha North Local Government Area, with his membership duly validated in line with party requirements. His aspiration to contest for the Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 elections has also been clearly stated.

Reacting to the claims, a party official said, “There is nothing to debate here. His membership is on record, verified and accessible. Anyone suggesting otherwise is simply pushing falsehood.”

The clarification follows recent attempts to question both his party affiliation and the office he intends to contest. Party leaders insist there is no ambiguity on either issue. “He is not running for anything else. It is the House of Representatives for Onitsha North and South. Clear and straightforward,” another stakeholder stated.

Within the local party structure, Egoigwe is described as a longstanding participant in party affairs. “This is someone who has been part of the system over the years. You cannot rewrite that history because of election season,” a ward-level member said.

Addressing the situation, Egoigwe himself dismissed the claims and challenged those behind them. “My APC membership is not hidden. It is documented. It is verifiable. I didn’t join yesterday, and I’m not here by accident,” he said. “If anyone has facts, let them present them. If not, they should stop misleading people.”

On his aspiration, he added, “I am running for the Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency seat. Not chairman, not Senate. Let’s keep it simple and honest.”

Party stakeholders say the spread of misinformation is not unusual at this stage of the political cycle but warn that it will not stand unchallenged. “This is how mischief starts—people create confusion where there is none. But the facts are already in the open,” one party leader noted.

Egoigwe also used the opportunity to call for focus on the coming primaries. “Let us compete on record, capacity, and ideas. That is what the party process is for. The rest is noise,” he said.
