APC Extends Defection Invitation to Governor Caleb Mutfwang

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is actively seeking to recruit Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, who currently represents the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The North Central APC Forum, led by Chairman Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, has formally invited Mutfwang to join their ranks.

In a recent statement, Zazzaga emphasized that the invitation aims to bolster the APC’s progressive initiatives. The communication, titled “Invitation of Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State to join APC,” detailed the extensive consultations and meetings held with Plateau State and North Central region leaders before extending the offer.

The letter noted that a formal invitation will be delivered directly to Governor Mutfwang, Plateau State APC, and his local government area in Mangu. The APC’s outreach is driven by the desire to reclaim Plateau State, which was lost to the PDP in the 2023 elections after being under APC control since 2015.

The APC’s letter praised Mutfwang’s developmental achievements, popularity, and efforts towards enhancing peace and security in Plateau State. It argued that aligning with Mutfwang would unify the North Central governors under one party, fostering regional collaboration for mutual development.
